You’d think food would be less difficult to photograph than say, a screaming child, because it stays put. But actually, taking an effective foodie photo requires a lot more skill. Here are the ten tastiest food photography tips to turn your unappetizing shots into delicious images. See three below:

  • Zoom in. Get as close as you can (keeping the subject in focus) to fill the frame with a mouthwatering view.
  • Use natural light whenever possible. Food has tiny details that will surely get lost in the harsh light of your flash.
  • Be quick. Foods like lettuce and meat aren’t as appetizing once they’re wilted or congealed.
