You may not have heard of the Sweatt Shop, but if you are a competitive athlete, or just someone who has a desire to fulfill your physical potential, you need to visit. Shane and Laura Sweatt opened their gym approximately one year ago and currently have 85 clients who regularly train at their facility. Their location is extremely convenient, off of Reed Hartman Highway, just south of 275, yet at the same time unassuming. They are located on a side street, in a warehouse, with no large neon sign pointing the way. Shane says that he chose the obscure location so that he could keep the overhead expenses down, and spend those savings on purchasing the best equipment possible. The Sweatt Shop is not your typical mainstream gym. They are located in a warehouse, the selection of equipment is "no frills". Shane chose each piece of equipment for it's quality and functionality, rather than simply choosing one line of equipment from the same manufacturer. Every client is personally trained by either Shane or Laura (who currently holds 28 world powerlifting records).
Shane decided to keep the gym small so that he could train everyone, and maintain control of the atmosphere. The atmosphere he has created is inspirational. I witnessed a very diverse group of three men and one women all working out together, encouraging one another, working hard, and at the same time joking and having fun. Shane trains elite athletes in a variety of sports including, powerlifting, tae kwon do, wrestling, and football. At the same time, the average "soccer mom" is more than welcome and will come to love the results that all of the Sweatt Shop clients receive.
All of the above reasons make the Sweatt Shop unique, but what truly makes this the destination of choice for athletes all over the Tri-State is Shane and Laura. Shane has a true passion to impart his vast knowledge on to his clients to ensure they achieve the best possible results.
